Philippe Bolton has been a builder of recorders since 1974, the year he obtained a Médaille d’or at the conservatorium of Lille.
Of the more than 20 different models of flutes which he builds today many are copies of historical instruments from the 15th – 18th centuries, while others are personal creations
All of his flutes are constructed entirely by hand. More than 40% of his instruments are exported across Europe, North America as well as to Australia and Japan. He gives conferences and master classes both in France and abroad.
Philippe Bolton is a Maître Artisan and received in 1991 the Grand Prix Départemental et Régional des Métiers d'Art de la SEMA.
