Born in Bucarest in 1972, Mira Glodeanu was formed within the Romanian violin school by the masters Nicolae Bilciurescu and Modest Iftinchi. She attained the soloist diploma from the Academy of Music in Bucarest with the highest distinction. Later she came in contact with a number of outstanding figures representing different styles such as Jordi Savall, Manfredo Kremer, and Sigiswald Kuijken with whom she came to study at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels where she obtained a performing degree on baroque violin.
Mira Glodeanu has performed as a soloist throughout Europe, in Canada, Japan, and Latin America with numerous chamber ensembles and baroque orchestras: La Petite Bande, Les Arts Florissants, La Fenice, Il Seminario Musicale, Arpeggiata, Le Poème Harmonique... She is regularly invited as concertmaster of the orchestras of Collegium Vocale Ghent, Les Agremens (Namur) and Al Ayre Espagnol (Zaragoza). She has recorded over thirty discs with artists as Philippe Herreweghe, Gerard Lesne, William Christie, Christophe Rousset, Sigiswald Kuijken...
Mira Glodeanu is professor of baroque violin at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, and regularly gives master classes in France (Sablé), Spain, Romania, the Czech Republic and England. She is also guest professor at the University of Salamanca.
